I Majored in Philosophy and (predictably) only made $45k out of college, which grew to $130k + bonus and stock after nine years. You probably won't get rich with a liberal arts degree, but you probably won't starve, either. Whether majoring in something esoteric is worth living lean in the early years after college is a very personal choice.

Idk if it’s because I come from a lower income immigrant family but this has always been my thought. If I was going to get into debt for a career I needed to choose one that would actually help me pay it off and help me live a better lifestyle. If I didn’t like my career at the end it would still provide for me a good stable income until I switched to something that I actually like.
